beginners course

Beginner Courses at Capoeira Brasil Australia start every month at the City, Manly and Castle Hills schools, and consist of either 2 classes a week for 4 weeks or once a week for 8 weeks. The next beginners courses for 2010 start on:

 Beginners courses run 7pm to 8pm Monday to Thursday and 6pm to 7pm Friday

The cost of the Beginners Course is $150 and includes Capoeira classes, music classes and rodas.

NOTE: Some schools will start their beginner's course on a slightly different date due to a different timetable for their training.  Please contact the appropriate school teacher to find out exactly when their classes are on.

Beginners Course Information:

  • This course is for a period of 4 or 8 weeks (unless the instructor advises differently).
  • You may only attend on the day that you have decided to train (unless the instructor has given permission to change).
  • No Refunds for the Beginners Course.
  • You may postpone the course into the next course (new courses commence every month), if you have only attended one class of the Beginners Course.
  • If you wish to postpone the Beginners Course, you can postpone it for up to 2 months and must resume within this time to complete the course.
  • The Beginners Course must be completed during one full course, either in 4 or 8 consecutive weeks.
  • If training is missed, you have until the end of the course to make up for the class(es) missed. (Unless instructor has given permission.)
  • No membership fee is required after the Beginners Course is completed.
  • You are not required to purchase a uniform during the Beginners Course.
  • Once a month, all Beginners Course students, current Capoeira students, Instructors and Teachers are to attend the Roda of the Month. This event occurs at a different location each month, usually at the beginning or end of the month.

 

Some things you should remember before coming to class:

  • Wear Comfortable clothing (clothing which you would wear to a gym)
  • Most students train in bare feet but if you choose to wear trainers please make sure they are light and low soles.
  • Bring your own water or Gatorade and in some cases you may be able to purchase them at the training centre.
  • Most locations have a suitable place for changing clothes.
  • Arrive 15 mins before the course commences.
  • Every time you attend your class please sign in.

After completion of the Beginners Course:

  • Once the Beginners Course is complete, you will be required to purchase the group uniform if you wish to continue with Group Capoeira Brasil.
  • The cost of the uniform is $150 and includes pants, a t-shirt or top and your belt.
  • After the course is complete, the payments for your Capoeira classes can be made casually ($25 per class) or fortnightly. The fortnightly fee is taken out every 15th day.
